Finding the Racecourse Centre
The entry to the Racecourse Centre is not signposted!
The directions given in the Timetable are still valid. Also see the
Racecourse Centre map.
For taxi's who don't know it, say next to the Holiday Inn, opposite the Fox and Roman
(pub I suppose, normal landmarks in England!).
If you are driving into York along the A1036 there is a kind of left loop.
Do NOT take the direction "Racecourse", but take the LEFT lane for "City centre".
After the next (I think) roundabout, Tesco on the left, continue direction City centre,
but you are nearly there, it is on the right.
There is a big white billboard saying "Next Race Meeting is" and a white gate which is the entrance.
This is opposite the Fox and Roman on your left.
If you miss it, turn into Cherry lane for the Holiday Inn, and backtrack.
Control receiver
F5B competitors are reminded that they must bring a control receiver to operate the course equipment.
Please bring a good quality receiver (not a wide band indoor, for example),
as bad reception can lead to bases not being counted.
Ideally the receiver should be fitted with a short extension lead terminating in a Futaba/JR socket.
This is obligatory if the receiver outlet is not standard Futaba/JR.
Receivers should be marked with the owner's name and number.
Battery Chargers
Competitors are reminded that they must bring their own battery chargers.
These should be marked with the owner's name clearly visible.
British (giant) plugs for these will be available from John in the battery room.
This requirement to bring your own charger applies also for batteries supplied by us.
Otherwise we will give you the address of the local Halfords shop.
National Flags and Anthems
Team managers are reminded that it is their responsibility to bring their National Flags
and Anthems (on CD) to be played at the awards ceremony!
FAI model cards and stickers
Team managers should provide and fill in the cards and attach the stickers
to the models before coming to the processing tent. Do not forget to bring the cards and stickers.
At least three per competitor.
