Batteries and charging

The provision of batteries and charging facilities is the responsibility of each team, but the organisers are able to offer the following help.

A supervised charging room is being made available so that competitors can have their batteries put on charge overnight, or even during the day. Access will only be at set times. Chargers must be provided by the teams themselves. Chargers are available at very low prices in local supermarkets for those unable to transport the charger, or who have no access to 240V equipment. Chargers will have to be fitted with British Plugs.

People coming by air will not be able to bring their own 12V batteries. The organisers will rent 110Ahr deep discharge leisure batteries for £25 for the event plus a deposit of £25 returnable when the battery is returned.
In order to provide these we need to know the numbers in advance. These batteries will be sold off after the event for £25 which represents very good value, but there is a limit to the number we can possibly sell. So we would ask competitors to be reasonably economical in the number requested, and in particular for the Open events to consider sharing at a National level. Bearing in mind the above, please make your requests before Monday 12th July.

Tents and Gazebos

Teams should have a tent or gazebo for protection from the weather, could be sun or could be rain! We will provide space for these, but they must be supplied and erected by the teams themselves. Local supermarkets have gazebos available at very low cost for those who cannot bring their own, and we are looking into a purchase deal for even lower cost. More news on this later.
